A national network of local law firms offering Will writing services to supporters of UK charities.

Many charities depend on legacies for up to half the money they raise.

What is the Network?

The National Free Wills Network comprises charities ranging from household names to those with a strong regional or local focus. The purpose of the Network is to offer free and discounted Will-writing services to the charities' known supporters.

Generally, people will have learned about the Network from a charity that they support. This site supplies further information that might be helpful regarding why you should have an up-to-date Will and how the Network operates.

If you are visiting the NFWN website without referral from a member charity, you can discover whether a charity that you support is a member of the Network by going to Contact Us.

The Network's services

The National Free Wills Network pays for 'simple' Wills at reduced rates negotiated with local solicitors. Should you need more than a simple Will (for example, if you need complex tax advice or the creation of a discretionary trust) you will have to pay for that extra work but you will still benefit from paying nothing for the basic Will.

The Network involves hundreds of solicitors across the UK with the aim that supporters will find participating solicitors within roughly a 20-mile radius of their home or workplace.

The Network charities all depend on gifts in Wills (legacies) for a very large part of their income. Quite simply, the more people who write their Will, the more legacies to charity there will be. The charities hope that people using the Network will remember their favourite charity this way, though there is no obligation to do so.
